2026 LLC Tax Filing Deadlines
The following deadlines apply to calendar-year LLCs filing their 2025 tax year returns in 2026.
For tax year 2025, March 15, 2026 is a Sunday. IRS rules move deadlines falling on weekends to the next business day. This means partnership (Form 1065) and S-corp (Form 1120-S) returns are due Monday, March 16, 2026. Verify this at IRS.gov before filing.

Filing Extensions: What They Do and Don't Cover
An extension gives your LLC more time to file its tax return — but it does not give you more time to pay any taxes owed. If you owe taxes and do not pay by the original deadline, you will owe interest and potential late payment penalties.
- Form 7004: Extends partnership (Form 1065) and S-corp (Form 1120-S) returns by 6 months. Must be filed by the original deadline.
- Form 4868: Extends individual returns (including single-member LLC Schedule C) by 6 months. Must be filed by April 15.
To request an extension, file the appropriate form electronically or by mail before the original deadline. Extensions are generally granted automatically — you do not need to explain why you need one.
Quarterly Estimated Tax Payment Dates: 2026
LLC owners who expect to owe $1,000 or more in self-employment or other taxes should make quarterly estimated payments. For tax year 2026:

| January 1 – March 31, 2026 | April 15, 2026 |
| April 1 – May 31, 2026 | June 16, 2026 |
| June 1 – August 31, 2026 | September 15, 2026 |
| September 1 – December 31, 2026 | January 15, 2027 |
Exact estimated tax due dates can shift when they fall on weekends or federal holidays, and the IRS may announce relief for certain dates. Always confirm at IRS.gov.
